Ready to sell your home? Staging your home is one of the easiest and most impactful things you can do to sell your home quickly AND for the right price. Whether you make big or small changes when you stage your home, you can certainly make an impact without breaking the bank. I’ve listed 5 of my favorite staging tips below to help you sell your home.
5 expert tips for staging your home for sale!
Focus on curb appeal – I recommend adding a fresh coat of mulch before you list your home. If your home is light brick, I think black mulch looks best. Other things to consider include adding potted plants to your entries, edging beds and tree rings with a 2″ edge, and pruning trees and shrubs to make sure nothing is obstructing windows/doors or touching the home’s siding. Hide toys and personal items – You may not have to hide toys completely if you know there is a family with children coming to look at your home. In this situation, just make sure everything is organized and tidy!
Get rid of clutter – My rule of thumb is if it’s not furniture or an accessory, then it’s clutter! Get rid of it! Find places to hide clutter so potential buyers won’t see your home as a mess. Closets and basements make great hiding spots.
Keep color in mind – I recommend using neutral colors for walls and vibrant colors for accessories like candles, pillows, and throws so there’s a pop in each room.
Add indoor plants – Indoor plants make a home feel inviting and clean. A couple of my favorites are pothos and philodendron because they are easy to care for and difficult to kill.
